The successful candidate will:

Domestic Assistant

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness of the service and Laundry causing minimal disruption to our services users and their care;
  • Practice safe systems of work eg movining & handling by assesing the risk and following best practice
  • Use a variety of cleaning products paying particular attention to COSHH regulated products;
  • Understand the cleaning requirements for different surfaces and equipment
  • Communicate and engage effectively with our service users, their families and colleagues, reflecting good interpersonal and working relationship skills at all times
  • Be Health and Safety aware, to ensure the safety of our services users and colleagues. Understand your responsibilities under the Health & safety and fire safety Acts
  • Ensure the safe and tidy storage of supplies
  • Report any faults with equipment to include requirement for maintenance/replacementKitchen Assistant
  • Ensure that all the people who use our service have their dietary requirements met Report any faults in the kitchen to the Chef
  • Respond to or refer to the Chef any questions or concerns expressed by anyone using the service or staff within the service
  • Maintain a clean and presentable kitchen
  • Adhere with all Embrace policies and procedures, including compliance with Health and Safety, Security regulations
  • Keep up-to-date with any changes to policies, procedures or regulations that affect the service
  • Take responsibility for personal development and attendance at training both mandatory and service specific
  • Report any incidents of abuse, mistreatment or non-compliance within the service to the Service Manager or next available management level
  • Fulfil any duties requested by the Chef
  • Ensure that any requests from the people that use the service are escalated to the Chef
  • Take responsibility for the safe working environment for self, colleagues and the people who use our service

Essential Criteria

  • GCSE Maths and English
  • Basic IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Health care experience not essential but it is desirable
  • Will be required to be signed off as competent at the induction training
  • Available to work a flexible shift pattern including 1:1 support, evenings and weekends
  • All Ann’s Care Home Health Care Assistant staff will be required to complete and obtain a minimum 60% in Level 2 of The Deprivation of Liberty module
  • Eligibility to work in UK
